Introducing our new Head Office: Frogmore House

At Staffing Match our people are dotted around the country, working where there’s the greatest demand for aviation, industrial, warehousing and driving recruitment needs. We have offices across the UK, from Birmingham to Manchester to Bristol and London, our regional hubs host our amazing teams of expert recruiters.

But we’ve chosen Watford as our recruiter ‘Head Office’ – and the location is amazing.

Introducing Frogmore House

Frogmore House was built 300 years ago in 1716 for a local – and rather successful – merchant, Isaac Finch. At the time it was built it was considered to be one of the grandest houses in Watford (and having seen it today, we’d have to agree!). The building itself boasts some amazing landscapes and orchards.

Almost 200 years after it was built, it was sold to the Watford and St Albans Gas Company in 1905. The firm made the most of the land that came with Frogmore House, building a huge gasometer next to the building. By the 1970’s it had become a series of flats. But in the 1990’s, the grandeur of the house and the risk of losing this piece of history through further developments saw Frogmore House put on the Buildings at Risk register.

The Grade II listed building has been through significant restoration over the past couple of years, following 10 years of being unoccupied. In early 2020, it was revealed that the building on Lower High Street had undergone a £2 million refurbishment by a developer to not only restore it to its former glory, but also to turn it into a corporate office space, which has subsequently become our home.

Frogmore House is a part of Watford’s history and we know our recruiters will enjoy working from this amazing location. But it’s great to simply be part of something that is so important to the local community. As Peter Taylor – who was mayor of Watford at the time of refurbishment last year – said:

“Frogmore House is a really important part of our town’s history. Having fallen into disrepair many years ago it is great that the building is being restored and brought back into use.

Welcoming staff back as Watford-based recruiters

This new office doesn’t just mark a chapter of growth for Staffing Match though. News of our move into the building as our Head Office comes at a time when we’re beginning to welcome our people back into the office – in a Covid-safe environment of course.

We’re very much a people-driven business so to have spent the last 18 months with teams working remotely has been a real change for us all. Our teams have been amazing throughout these difficult times, continuing to go above and beyond for clients. But we’re looking forward to getting our people back together again and taking advantage of this amazing new location in Watford for our recruiters to operate out of.

Michael Gadsby, Director and Co-Founder of Staffing Match recently commented:

“Frogmore House is a significant part of the town’s culture and it’s been amazing to see its restoration over the last year. For Staffing Match, we had a presence in north London already and we are proud, and excited, to be able to call this historic building – which has its own alleged resident ghost – our new home. While we’re not able to welcome everyone back into the office due to Covid-19, we are beginning to get people into the building in a Covid-safe way and we’re looking forward to being able to fully operate from Frogmore House in the very near future.”

A promising future

But we’re not just looking forward to seeing our current staff back in the office – we’re also hoping to soon be welcoming new hires to support our on-going growth plans. Business is really picking up at Staffing Match and we’re always on the look-out for amazing, motivated and proactive people to join the team.
